BETA TECHNOLOGIES Conducts Demonstration Flight of the All-Electric ALIA CX300 in Toronto and Announces First Electric Charger Sale in Canada

Canadian Advanced Air Mobility (CAAM), the national association for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in Canada, announced that BETA Technologies conducted a demonstration flight of its electric conventional takeoff and landing aircraft (ALIA CTOL CX300) at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. This also confirms Stolport’s first purchase of a BETA electric charger in Canada.
Located on Toronto Island, minutes from downtown, Billy Bishop Airport is a key hub for regional connectivity. The arrival of the ALIA CX300 positions the airport as a benchmark in the transition to cleaner, quieter, and emission-free aviation.

As part of this initiative, Stolport acquired a BETA Mini Cube portable charger, with a 60 kWh capacity, multimodal and interoperable, capable of powering both electric aircraft and ground vehicles. This is the first sale of a BETA charger in Canada.
JR Hammond, Executive Director of CAAM, noted:
“This purchase is not only a first step for Toronto, but a milestone for all of Canada. It marks the transition of advanced air mobility from the concept and demonstration phase to operational reality.”
Today, BETA has installed 52 chargers in the United States at airports, military bases, hospitals, and private operators, creating the initial network that will bring electric aviation to both metropolitan areas and hard-to-reach rural communities.

For BETA Technologies, this milestone reinforces its growing presence in Canada. The company opened its Montreal office in 2023, and that same year, its electric aircraft was the first to land at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport. It also closed the first sale of an eVTOL in the country with Helijet International.
