DJI has introduced its O4 Ground Station, a solution designed to expand remote drone operation capabilities, particularly when used alongside DJI Dock 3 and platforms such as the Matrice 400.
According to the company, the O4 Ground Station enables long-range drone communications of up to 40 kilometers when paired with the DJI Matrice 400, featuring automatic multi-band selection and technologies aimed at improving resistance to signal interference.
The platform also includes a Gateway mode that supports real-time video transmission and remote control through FlightHub 2, DJI's fleet management ecosystem. Additionally, it offers a relay mode designed to extend communications beyond conventional network coverage.
DJI stated that the station is IP67-rated for operation in harsh environments and is designed to support solar-powered deployments, enabling off-grid operations without relying on traditional electrical infrastructure.
The company believes these capabilities could expand drone applications in sectors such as industrial inspections, public safety, critical infrastructure, and remote operations, where connectivity and operational autonomy are essential.
