Electra selects Evolito to supply electric motors for its EL9 Ultra Short hybrid aircraft

Electra.aero has selected Evolito, a leading developer of electric motors and integrated propulsion systems for the aerospace sector, to supply the Electric Propulsion Units (EPUs) for the EL9 Ultra Short, its innovative hybrid aircraft capable of taking off and landing in just 45 meters.
The agreement includes the supply of lightweight motors, high-integrity motor controllers, and advanced thermal systems, all designed for reliability, efficiency, and low maintenance. These units power the eight electric thrusters located along the wing, which provide ultra-high lift and precise control even at low speeds.

The nine-passenger EL9 combines blown-lift technology and distributed electric propulsion, dramatically reducing noise and emissions and opening thousands of new access points for regional air travel.
With more than 2,200 pre-orders from more than 60 commercial customers worldwide, the EL9 is emerging as one of the most promising projects in the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) sector. Flight testing is planned for 2027, with certification and entry into commercial service by the end of 2029 under FAA Part 23 regulations.
