Joby Aviation Conducts Demonstration Flight Between Marina and Salinas During the California International Airshow

Santa Cruz, California – October 6, 2025. Joby Aviation, Inc. (NYSE:JOBY), a developer of electric passenger air taxis, conducted demonstration flights at the California International Airshow, marking a new milestone in promoting urban air mobility.
During the event, Joby conducted three flights between Marina (OAR) and Salinas (SNS), allowing the public to observe the aircraft’s full performance: vertical takeoff and landing, transitions to cruise flight, precision maneuvers, and pilot-onboard operations. These demonstrations demonstrated the technological maturity and reliability of the vehicle, which is preparing to begin type certification flight testing with the FAA early next year.
Attendees highlighted the electric model’s notable noise reduction, a key aspect for the integration of air taxis into urban environments. Additionally, they were able to explore the aircraft up close and visualize the potential for a future of cleaner, quieter, and more accessible flight.
Company founder and CEO Joe Ben Bevirt said that seeing the aircraft fly off California’s Central Coast, following performances in Japan and Dubai, represents a special moment for the team. Joby has accumulated more than 40,000 flight miles in urban air mobility demonstrations, reinforcing its leadership in the industry.
The company will continue its outreach and community engagement efforts at the Dubai Airshow, November 17-21, 2025, as part of its strategy to strengthen public acceptance ahead of the commercial launch of its electric air taxi service.
