Sky-Drones Launches SkyLane-480, Long-Endurance VTOL UAV for BVLOS Operations

20 April 2026

Sky-Drones Technologies continues to advance in the professional drone segment with the introduction of the SkyLane-480, a next-generation UAV platform designed for mission-critical and real-world operations in demanding environments.

The SkyLane-480 stands out for combining vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capabilities with the aerodynamic efficiency of a fixed-wing aircraft, eliminating the need for runways and enabling rapid deployments to remote locations. This hybrid architecture positions it as a key solution for beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations, significantly extending operational range.

With an endurance of up to 12 hours and a range of up to 1,000 kilometers, the system is designed for long-duration missions such as intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), as well as high-precision mapping tasks. Its payload capacity of up to 15 kg allows for the integration of multiple sensors and specialized equipment depending on the mission.

In technical terms, the UAV has a wingspan of 4.8 meters, a maximum takeoff weight of 65 kg, and a hybrid propulsion system that combines electric power with internal combustion. It also offers wind resistance of up to 15 m/s in fixed-wing flight and 8 m/s in VTOL mode, ensuring stability in complex operating conditions.

The SkyLane-480’s design responds to the growing demand for robust and versatile UAV solutions capable of operating in sectors such as security, infrastructure monitoring, defense, and logistics. This type of platform reinforces the market’s evolution toward more efficient, scalable autonomous systems prepared for highly critical missions.
