Sky-Drones Powers Hydrogen UAV with Up to 10 Hours of BVLOS Flight

Sky-Drones announced the evolution of its SkyLane-350 platform into a hydrogen-powered UAV, in collaboration with Intelligent Energy and Edge, marking a key advancement in efficiency and autonomy for long-range operations.
The integration of a hydrogen fuel cell allows the system to achieve up to 10 hours of flight, significantly overcoming the limitations of conventional power systems. This technological change not only increases mission duration but also reduces the acoustic and thermal signature, improving its performance in sensitive operations.
Thanks to higher energy density and an estimated system efficiency of between 40% and 60%, the SkyLane-350 is designed to enable long-range BVLOS (beyond line of sight) operations without the need for frequent refueling, opening up new opportunities in sectors such as surveillance, inspection, and remote logistics.
This development reinforces the role of hydrogen as a key alternative in the evolution of unmanned aviation, especially in missions where extended endurance and energy efficiency are critical factors.
