SkyDrive Inc. (Japan) announced the signing of a development agreement with SASMOS HET Technologies Ltd. (India) for the design and manufacturing of the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) for its SKYDRIVE SD-05 production eVTOL aircraft. The announcement was made on January 23, 2026, with activities taking place between Bangalore, India, and Toyota, Japan.

Under the agreement, SASMOS will deliver a comprehensive EWIS solution, encompassing system design, prototyping, certification support, and preparation for series production. This collaboration strengthens the reliability, manufacturability, and industrial scalability of the SKYDRIVE program, in a context where eVTOLs incorporate high-voltage electrical architectures and face increased demands in safety, weight, and manufacturability.

SASMOS has proven experience in EWIS for aircraft and has participated in programs for global OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers such as Boeing, Airbus, and Honeywell. For SkyDrive, the agreement lays a key foundation for advancing toward large-scale commercialization, planned for 2028, following demonstration flights at Expo 2025 in Osaka.

The alliance aims to solidify the SD-05 design and ensure stable, high-quality production, aligned with SkyDrive’s vision of integrating electric air mobility into everyday transportation.
