Vertical Aerospace Secures Comprehensive Financing Package of Up to $850 Million

30 March 2026

Vertical Aerospace has announced a comprehensive financing package of up to $850 million, bolstering its ability to advance the certification and future commercialization of its eVTOL aircraft, Valo.

As an initial part of the agreement, the company has already raised $50 million in capital and expects to receive an additional $30 million in the coming weeks, bringing its near-term available capital to approximately $160 million to meet key milestones through 2026.

The financing package, structured with Mudrick Capital Management and Yorkville Advisors, provides access to additional capital through multiple instruments through 2027 and beyond, offering flexibility to fund the program’s development.

Key components of the financing:

  • Equity issuance: $50 million already closed as immediate liquidity
  • Convertible notes: maturity extension to 2030 + up to an additional $50 million
  • Series A preferred stock: up to $250 million available in tranches
  • Equity credit facility: up to $500 million over 36 months

In addition, the debt restructuring extends the maturity of the convertible notes until after the certification expected in 2028, aligning the financial strategy with the initial aircraft deliveries.

This move strengthens Vertical Aerospace’s position at a critical time for the eVTOL sector, allowing it to advance testing, certification, and industrial scaling, while maintaining the flexibility to raise additional capital as needed.

The company now seeks to focus market attention on its technical progress and the commercial potential of its aircraft, in a context where access to financing is key to leading the race toward advanced air mobility.
