FlyNow Introduces the eCopter: A New Era in Rapid Fire Response

4 Nov 2025

Wildfires are increasing in speed, frequency, and difficulty of access, especially in hot regions like Saudi Arabia, where fire seasons can last year-round. This context demands more agile and sustainable solutions that complement traditional methods, such as ground trucks or expensive water bombers.

In response to this challenge, FlyNow has developed the eCopter, an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle equipped with a 150-liter tank, designed to act as a first line of defense against small fires before they spread. With a top speed of 130 km/h, the eCopter can reach a fire located 10 km away in just five minutes, overcoming congestion and terrain limitations. Furthermore, its compact 7 m² footprint allows it to land almost anywhere.

The first commercial operations of the eCopter will begin with versions dedicated to firefighting and cargo transport, key missions that demonstrate the potential of this technology while the certification process for passenger transport progresses.
