Sarla Aviation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Urban-Air Port (UAP) to accelerate the development of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) infrastructure in India, supporting the future commercialization of eVTOL operations across the country.
The partnership aims to combine Sarla Aviation's Shunya eVTOL platform with Urban-Air Port's expertise in rapidly deployable vertiport infrastructure and operational planning. Urban-Air Port is known for developing Air One, the world's first fully operational Advanced Air Mobility hub demonstrator, which successfully integrated aircraft operations, charging infrastructure, passenger handling, and regulatory engagement in a live urban environment.
Under the agreement, both companies will work together to integrate UAP's vertiport infrastructure with the Shunya aircraft, develop a phased roadmap for vertiport deployment across Indian cities, collaborate with India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and assess potential deployment sites in key metropolitan and strategic regions.
The collaboration reflects the growing importance of infrastructure readiness as eVTOL aircraft move closer to certification. By advancing infrastructure, operational planning, and regulatory coordination in parallel, Sarla Aviation and Urban-Air Port aim to create a scalable ecosystem capable of supporting future commercial air mobility services throughout India.
The companies believe India has the opportunity not only to adopt Advanced Air Mobility but also to become a global leader in defining how large-scale urban and regional air mobility networks are deployed.
