Vertical Aerospace has announced a long-term partnership with Astronics Corporation to supply the low-voltage power distribution system for its VX4 electric aircraft, formerly known as the VA-X4 and now branded as Valo.
Under the agreement, Astronics will provide the power conversion and distribution hardware responsible for managing, converting, and protecting electrical power across critical aircraft systems.
The partnership represents another step in Vertical Aerospace's efforts to mature the VX4 program as it advances toward certification and commercial entry into service. Reliable electrical power management is considered a critical component for electric aircraft, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of onboard systems.
By leveraging Astronics' experience in aerospace electrical systems, Vertical Aerospace aims to further strengthen the safety, reliability, and performance of its next-generation eVTOL aircraft.
The collaboration also highlights the growing importance of strategic supplier partnerships as the Advanced Air Mobility industry moves closer to commercialization.
